Life

Sometimes it is interesting the events that put at least some of your life into perspective.  Losses of a close relative or friend are always high on the list, but today I found that it was the loss of someone I never knew, nor would probably ever know, that really brought it home to me.  Life is cheap.  People on this planet prove that every day.  But just because it is cheap, doesn’t mean we all have to regard it as such.  There are times when parent’s can’t get along.  We’re people, these things happen.  But we are supposed to (or at least I was brought up that way) understand that no matter our problems, our children are what is important.  They are not to supposed to be bargaining chips, methods to to inflict pain on others, or pieces of community property for the courts to divvy out.  But when we forget that, it is sadly always the innocent that bare the brunt of our mistakes.

Sigh!

No amount of planning or any enthusiasm can overcome simple incompetence.
